Around the clock, every day. To secure uninterrupted operations, every vital piece of equipment must be secured. All of EG.D’s high-voltage substations are operated remotely. Card readers are used to allow access remotely.
Security solutions that last a lifetime.
The electric grids should last a lifetime. The industry standard is 40 years. To make sure the grid operates for as long as possible, all of the security solutions have to be highly durable.
We used long lasting, high quality ABLOY components to secure EG.D’s equipment, grid facilities, storage, and substation safety.
EG.D now uses the ABLOY PROTEC² locking system in cabinet locks, cam locks, padlocks and door cylinders. Door closers and panic bars supplied by ABLOY are also used on doors.
Other products, such as key cards, card readers and key deposits, provide access for some of the sites.
